In response to Wattpad stakeholders' need to understand experience gaps that affect reader engagement, I led an eight-week global diary study focused on capturing authentic reader interactions. By remotely recording reading sessions and employing targeted questionnaires, the study aimed to uncover the detractors and gaps that limit consistent reader engagement. The insights gathered are pivotal for business, as they inform strategies to enhance user experience, content relevance, and interface design, which are crucial for increasing reader retention, platform engagement, and revenue potential through tailored advertising and content offerings.
